Springless Trampolines

Springless trampolines replace the ring of steel coils with flexible composite rods mounted below the jumping surface, leaving the frame edge completely clear. The bounce is deeper and softer than a sprung frame, and there is no spring pad to maintain.

How the rod system works
Instead of springs pulling outward from the mat's edge, springless designs run flexible rods downward from beneath the mat to a frame that sits low and outside the jumping zone. As you land, the rods flex; as you rise, they straighten and return the energy.
The practical difference you notice is at the edges. On a sprung trampoline the outer few inches of mat feel firmer than the middle. On a springless frame the surface stays consistent much closer to the perimeter, so the usable jumping area is effectively larger than the mat measurement suggests.
The bounce, honestly
Springless models give a deeper, slower, more cushioned bounce. Most children under ten never notice the difference and take to it immediately. Older kids chasing maximum height for tricks tend to prefer the sharper return of a sprung frame, and it is worth knowing that before you buy rather than after.
Longer-term ownership
There are no springs to lose tension and no spring pad sitting in the sun, which removes the two most common maintenance jobs on a conventional trampoline. Rods do eventually take a set, meaning they no longer return fully straight, and when that happens they are replaced individually.
What to expect on assembly day
Springless frames are heavier and take longer to build than sprung equivalents. Plan on two people and a clear afternoon. No spring tool is needed, but the rod sockets need to seat fully before you tension the mat, so work steadily rather than quickly.
