Classic or film
The classic comic Thor is blue with silver discs, a winged helmet and long blond hair. The film versions moved through darker armour, a shorter haircut and eventually a very different colour palette again.
These read as noticeably different characters, so it is worth confirming which one is wanted before ordering.
The hammer
The hammer is the single accessory that makes Thor unmistakable, and it is the one children most want to carry. Foam versions are light enough to hold all evening; heavier moulded props get put down within twenty minutes.
Check whether your event or school has a policy on props, as some do.
Hair and helmet
The winged helmet belongs to the classic version and is instantly recognisable. The film versions rely more on the hair, which means a wig does more work than any other accessory if you are going for that look.
Cape and comfort
The red cape is a defining element and attaches at the shoulders on most designs. As with any cape, shorter is more practical for an active child.
Group costumes
Thor works within an Avengers group and pairs particularly well with the Hulk, since the two have an established double act that people recognise immediately.
