The versions
Catwoman has been reinvented repeatedly. The purple and green comic version, the glossy black catsuits of the films, and the goggled modern designs all exist side by side, and each reads quite differently.
For children, the simpler animated-style versions tend to be the more comfortable choice as well as the more recognisable one.
Ears and mask
The ears are the identifying feature. A plain black outfit with cat ears and a mask reads as Catwoman instantly; the same outfit without them reads as nothing much at all. If you are assembling a costume rather than buying a set, the ears are the piece to get right.
Catsuits and comfort
One-piece catsuits give the cleanest silhouette and are the warmest option in the range. For a long evening outdoors, a top-and-leggings combination with the same accessories gives the same effect with far more airflow.
Group costumes
Catwoman is one of the easiest characters to slot into a DC group, working equally well as a foil to Batman or alongside Batgirl and the villain range.
Accessories
Gloves, claws, whips and masks are stocked separately, and the accessories are what carry the character if the base outfit is something you already own.
