Elsa or Anna, and which outfit
Both sisters have several distinct looks. Elsa appears in the ice-blue gown with a sheer cape, in the white winter outfit, and in the darker travelling clothes. Anna has the green and black coronation dress, the blue and magenta travelling outfit with a cape, and the winter version.
Children are usually very specific about which. The blue Elsa gown remains the most requested by a wide margin.
The cape
Elsa's sheer cape is the detail that makes the costume, and it is also the most fragile part. Snap or clip-on capes come away rather than tearing when caught, which matters at a party.
Hair
The plaited wig is what completes both characters, and for Elsa in particular it does as much work as the dress. Anna's twin plaits with a white streak are equally identifying.
Warmth, ironically
These are winter costumes worn in Australian spring and summer. Long sleeves and layered skirts hold heat. Sleeveless versions and lighter-weight fabrics exist across the range and are the more comfortable choice for a warm afternoon.
Sister and family costumes
Elsa and Anna together is one of the easiest sibling costumes there is, and the wider cast — Olaf, Kristoff, Sven — extends it to a family group without anyone needing an explanation.
